Arguably known as the best television ever created, The Wire chronicles urban decay by exploring different facets of life in Baltimore, Maryland: the drug trade, the ports, local government, the schools and the media. It employs a literary approach as each season unfolds like a chapter unified by the overall theme of the effect that institutions have on individual citizens.
Created by author and former police reporter David Simon, it features a large ensemble cast including such actors as Dominic West, Wendell Pierce, Clarke Peters, Lance Reddick, Michael K. Williams, Idris Elba, Sonja Sohn, Andre Royo and Amy Ryan.
